Fished last 3 hours of the ebb last night just to the North of Marsden rock. Bite a cast really with first coleys then as it got dark whiteys attacking big cod baits. Caught a dozen or so 25-30cm fish of both species but nothing big. Only codling was about 10cm long and took the biggest piece of Cart in the flask ;-)

Lost a few leads when I was casting close to the rock itself just tying to buy a bite from a better fish, I got the impression it's clearer to the North in front of the cave. Did I get that right ?

pity nothing big, but sounds like you picked a good spot and got plenty of action. well done.

I think the cleanest ground is between the pub and the stack to the north of the pub. Ive only lost 2 grippers in that area, in one session - there was fairly heavy surf at the time and I think they were just getting buried. after losing two I switched to plain leads, which were getting pushed around more but were pulling out ok. all other times Ive fished there ive never had any snags.
