Me & the daughter (10 year old Mollie) fished the tide up last night. She had been wanting to have a night fishing trip for a while so decided to have a session using light gear and see if we could target bass. Tackle was 10' spinning rods 10 lb bs line with 1 1/2 oz drilled bullet lead to a running legder rig with a single size 2 hook, ragworm bait. As the light faded we both hooked into small flounder. As I was setting up the beach shelter (tenner from Asda, good bit of kit) got a good knock & in came a codling of around 3/4 lb. Two more followed. As the top of the tide approached we got our bass, I managed one & Moll pulled in two. We packed in just after midnight as the thunder & lightning started. Total tally: 3 flounder, 3 Codling & 3 Bass, all safely returned. None over a pound in weight but good sport on the light gear. (Mollie won 5-4!)

Wallsendo. I start at the south end (swimming pool) and move North as the tide floods, ending up at the bottom of the stairs (down from the church).
