  • The Heugh. Wednesday 6th.

Me & Ronnie fished the Heugh Wednesday 2pm to 8pm. Sea had a bit of a swell on & was well coloured, coupled with a big Tide i had high hopes of a fish or two.
Never more than 6 guys on there & we were joined by Steve Walker about 4pm. That raised my hopes too, he dosnt usually turn up if theres no hope.

Ron fished 2 hook Flappers for small stuff and was well pleased with the results. He had loads of big Whiteys and quite a few nice plump Dabs. The Dabs went home with me. yumeeee.

Ron wasnt so happy having all the extra weight in his box when it was time for the climb back mind.

I stuck it out with fresh Blacks & Ragworm hoping to find the Codling, which proved to be hard work. Ended up with 2 Pan sized, the only Codling caught in the session, apart from Steve who had one just under size along with loads of Dabs & Tings.

Great sport and nice to take a bag of fish home for the Freezer for a change.

Just need some kind Winds now, not looking promising mind.

Yes, but it should be no bother for you mate. You might need a hand with your stuff through the bars if your agility is not the greatest.
Should be fine though. Easy to find, locals will call it "the huff"

Can be a bit of a pain getting over with Gear. The secret is to have everything on your back so that your hands are free.

                    the heugh

the barrier has been fixed so u have to climb over instead of the easier option of climbing round still ok to get on though mate put Rowell street hartlepool and drive to bottom of street that'll bring u straight out at the pier

Well done Bob. Was down last week when visiting sister. Had my Verrils fish and chips and weighed up the old girl but decided on Seaham Hall beach-big mistake el blanko. Hope to get back down soon-always a good sign when Steve turns up.
