  • strange session on whitley beach

2 of us fished in near perfect conditions on Whitley beach last night. started at the panama area where baits were coming back untouched so moved South where we had 5 out between us with the best being 4lb. As the tide started to push it went very quiet again so packed in about 10.30.
I've been out three times over the last week and It seems to go from one extreme to another with either feast or famine. the majority of fish being just below keeper size but there are enough fish around to keep it interesting. Last nights conditions were ideal with some lovely holes at low tide but the fishing was quieter than expected yet during daylight on Saturday the bights were coming thick and fast out of West Bay.
    the strange season continues...................

Blyth beach the same, two down and three up not a touch, every bait up
came back same way it went out, untouched.Lad fifty yards to left got
one about a pound and a half.
Wonder if the small tide was the problem,as the conditions were mint?

I was out on Whitley Monday night trying nearly full length of beach with only a couple of knocks, I wonder if seas been up to long and fish are stuffed full of sandeel

4lb, nice one Steve, don’t rockling and flounders count in the score? Looks like we picked the right beach after all the strange goings-on up at Blyth.

You’re right about moving Alan but we looked at the north end before starting. The top end was heavily weeded and the North skeer and little bay areas were too flat so we started in the middle and headed south until we found fish.
