Port Carlisle
Hi All
Just thought I would let you know that there are plenty flatfish at Port Carlisle
At the moment. I went there this morning with my mate to fish the old harbour (The Island) for some sport as the cod season seems to be dead and buried! We started off on the broken ground in front of the island and were straight into flounder but were soon pushed back to the island by the fast and furious tide! Once on the front of the mark we were faced with loads of pools and gullies that were fast filling up and the fish were right behind the incoming tide. We had fish to about 1 3/4lb and quite a few of them and loads of double shots, all were returned alive. The fishing died slightly on the ebb but all in all we had a great day! The fish seemed to be taking most baits Mackerel/runnydown/Frozen crab and Ragworm.
