Last Sunday I was walking the dog along Whitley beach and I bumped into Neil "Kingfisher" at North Wilkies. Neil was fishing the Seaton Sluice comp and obviously had some fishing to do. This didnt stop Neil from spending 10 minutes with me highlighting some of the marks around the Whitley area and giving some excellent advice on how to fish them. Cheers Neil! As a result of this "Kingfisher" offered to show me a few marks and kindly let me tag along to Collywell last night.
Had a quality night, Kingfisher caught a few coalies on fresh peeler and I had a small "WEAVER" on lug which was promptly unhooked by Neil!!! The sea was pretty flat but the crack was spot on.
To be fair Kingfisher would have had a bag full had I not been asking him so many questions! It was good to fish with such a dedicated angler - tottally organised and masses of local "marks" knowledge. (and getting a bite a chuck by the way!!!)
Probably learned more about north east sea angling last night than I have done in the last 2 years. Cheers Neil - a credit to the sport and NESA!
Thanks again,
Steve
