  • West Bay St Mary's 1st and 2nd Oct

Fished West Bay at St Mary’s on Tuesday and Wednesday night, making the most of the rough sea and avoiding the weed on the beach.

SteveW started by pulling a fish out in the first couple of minutes and the bites only slowed around low water, the flood was slower too which often happens there. All the fish were small, either side of a pound again, taking a mix of lug and peeler.

Wednesday night I fished with my young son. Conditions were the same but the fishing was slower, I matched him fish-for-fish until he pulled out this one.. Estimated at 2 ¾ but weighed at home as 3 ½ it was the only fish we kept from there. Beaten again.
Bait was frozen lug and cuttlefish for a change.
