Headed down for 6pm onto watts slope sea looked spot on. It all started off pretty slow with my cousin Stefan (wallsendfisherman) getting all the good pulls. No fish though. Until slack water he managed a lovely clean codling around a 1lb. All I'm doing is looking at my still rod tip about 20 minutes into the flood I got a pull and was straight into a codling just shy of 2lb which I kept.
After the 1st fish for me I was getting pulls every cast but the fish weren't coming back as was Stefan, some good pulls aswell. Next cast saw me land a smaller codling about 1 1/2lb which went back alive with it only being lip hooked. The sea was now starting to flood hard and my 6oz lump of lead was being battered about with the sea getting bigger and decided to call it a night. I was well pleased with the fish I caught.
Not gonna be able to get out for a few days now with family commitments so hope there's some canny reports for me to read the next few days.
Tight lines and stay safe
