Took the chance of a few hours after work in the glorious sunshine. Didn't really fancy the tide as I got there about an hour into the ebb, but its a look out. Fished 2nd steps at Roker seaward side and the sea was as flat as.
Caught plenty of small coleys on everything, big rod, float and LRF but nothing size. Put my last 3 (big) rag on with a whole peeler crab on a 3/0 for the last chuck before home while I packed the rest up and you guessed it. A proper butt lifter bite just as it was getting dark but I didn't connect. Probably struck too early in truth with such a big bait but it's hard to wait when you get such a positive pull. Another lesson learned (again).
I reckon that might be my last session in a tee shirt for a while, but looking forward to some cold sessions chucking big baits around.
A bit of excitement when some noddy in a sailing boat decided that despite the fact he had 100 square miles of open sea in front of him he would sail around my lines for half an hour. Do they have to leave their brains as a deposit on the boat ? No harm done but it's a pain to have to bring it in when you have just got baited up and chucked out isn't it.
