  • River Tyne, South bank.

Had to nip out for sea water tonight, took a drive along the river and called in at a few marks.
Customs House: 5 anglers fishing, looked as if they were all using ragworm, lugworm and mackerel. I sat and watched for arounf 30 mins, rods knocking every cast withing minutes of hitting the water, saw nothing landed except crabs.

Brighams: 2 anglers fishing, using 3 rods each, nothing of size, plenty of undersized whiting and two hag fish to worm baits tipped with mackerel strip.

walkway: 2 anglers fishing using lugworm and ragworm, plenty of small coalies and flounder as well as two nice plump codling weighing around 2lb each gutted. Spoke to them and they said there were two others down earlier and both had codling to take home to worm baits.

Big beach: 3 anglers fishing, only on there third cast, had two small flats to mackerel strip.

North row: 1 angler fishing getting rockling and had (his words)a 3lb codling which looked more like 2lb, walked along to souter, two anglers with one fish close to 3lbs.

Got me water and came home.

    Will that do Jim?
