    Ventured into that curious land around the Weeya for a match. Started at Glass Centre but was crap. Bites all night long but bait just being ripped by pin whiting.

    Went onto Roker Pier for the last hour or so and got three reasonable whiting. Noticed earlier that baits tipped with mackerel were being eaten leaving the fish. So onto Roker and similar. 3 hooking tipping one and plain worm on the others, rag and lug. Result three fish to plain worm when not much being landed. Unusual when the whiting are biting I find.

    i think , the glass center is better on a big tide and a n/e wind for a few days,,,

      Probably right. Just didn't follow the crowds and I know the mark. Very little movement in the river probably why I did better on the pier. There was a bit of a swell on the seaward side.

          Peter,Flathead recons you were over this neck ov the woods lookin for marks like the one nxt to the toilets on Blyth beach.....

            I'm sure he'll know them sort of marks well, especially when it's dark.
