JHer in doors had to work this morning so me and my son Cameron aged 5 headed for Roker pier bait fishing for a few hours , but it lasted nearer 5 1/2 hours
Popped into Rutherfords for a couple of bags of rag ( it was quality boys) then into the shop next door for pop n sweets
Got to pier 9.30 and set up 2 rods for Cameron and 1 big rod for me and a small rod
We set up all the way to the end fishing into the bay makki and rag for bait with small hooks
Cameron 1st chuck and a small coalie
It was getting abit nippy so the little fella put my hoodi on
Next cast he pulled in another coalie on the yuki rod
2 nil to the little fella then I caught a coalie on the big rod
Then the little yuki rod going berserk down the side up comes Cameron's 1st scorpion fish which he was buzzing over
Then I pulled in a new species
A tompot Blenny as geordie uk thinks
There was about 20 makki bashers with nothing getting caught for a couple of hours then Colin the lad on the mobility scooter pushed in on the end and 1st cast straight in a nice sized makki they couldnt believe it
Met young don down there cheers for the money for Cameron
All small stuff but great fun
Final scores on the doors as you will guess beat once again
9 for Cameron plus a crab and about 4 for me great way to spend a couple of hours family bonding and an ice cream from sue,s cafe before coming home
