  • Wemyss Bay and Greenock

My new USB cable arrived today, so I can now post last Saturday's report.

With reports of poor fishing and now two seals at Blairmore we decided to stay on this side of the Clyde and I reckoned the red rocks at Wemyss Bay may produce. I used to, years ago, get a few Wrasse there and the odd Saithe, so off we went. It looked good to me.

However the Boss said it was too windy and wet on the rocks and didn't want to go down!! So we headed to Custom House Quay in Greenock, next to theatre we perform in. I wasn't best pleased as it is always mobbed with mackie bashers(which of course we are, but kid ourselves on that we are not!!).

    Parked up by the clock.

    We were not alone!

Mackrel were there from the off, but only Joeys really, with the odd decent one coming in occasionally.

Then the pier got mobbed as the Waverley turned up. I love this paddler.

As you can see my heart wasn't in the fishing!

With the Paddler in, we retired to the theatre cafe for coffee and scones. Weather closed in a bit so even though the Waverley left, we did too!

Poor fishing day, but a few photos.
2016 - Cod, Dab, Dogfish, Gurnard, Ling, Mackerel, Saithe, Scorpian fish. .

Great report , wish we could catch small joeys , great bait :-)
        I am a fisherman !
It is not merely something that I do
It is who I am !
Fishing is not simply my escape.
It is where I am supposed to be.
It is not a place that I go
But a lifelong journey that I am taking
It is a passage that was shown to me and that I will continue to show others.
When you understand all of this you will then know me .
        And we will fish together
