  • SSP Weds 7th

First report , no pics, phone battery died grr! Anyway, fished ssp from 10am til about 4pm , pier was very quiet when I arrived in terms of fish and people.
Slowly that all changed, about lunchtime a group of 4 lads carrying boxes of Stella, and bottles of cider arrived, over the next few hours my eyes were opened to the word " stupidity "
As the beer crept in the loudness and antics also boiled over, one lad dropped his rod into the sea side of the pier, only for his mate to climb down the ladder and into the sea to retrieve it, he then climbed up and undressed to his underwear and put his clothes onto the wall to dry, moments later the same fool caught a sandeel and proceeded to eat it whole!

Anyway from the fish side of the day I managed 4 mackerel, 1 small granny and a small coalie, so it wasnt a total farce

Most people who go down there this time of year are brain dead. When I was there on Sunday I nearly got my eye taken out by a 60 or so old man who was swinging his line and day lights about

          I was there too.

The same nugget also apparently removed the end of one of his fingers, including a lump of the nail.

When he tried to swallow the fish, everyone near me said the same: "pity it didn't choke the fxxxxx"

Anyway, In spite of the "stella appreciation quartet", the weather was fantastic, the sea was pretty clear and I finally broke my duck on the pier, with a single plump mackerel on my home made daylights

          cheers

I had a walk along with the wife, saw the idiots you were on about, he was shouting "am defo going for a swim in a minute", what an idiot and the lass sitting on the wall swigging from the huge bottle of cider, she was leaning so far over when drinking I thought she would be over any minute.

Must be something in the air at Mackie time which only affects the Low life population.

I'm surprised POT haven't closed it yet and all the decent sensible anglers will lose one of the best marks in the north east

wish it was a weaver he tried to eat instead of a sand eel
