I had my first session on shields pier with my mate col last night. We got down for about 8:15 and noticed the car park gets locked at 12:00. So we said well just have a few hours. We fished the 40 something mark. I lost my float on a crab pot bouy on the seaward side. We got a couple of fish as it started to get dark and got more and more bites as the sun went down. We decided to stay till the bait was gone so I had to move the car. Thanks again fishingmark for telling me where to park. We ended up with about 10 fish between us. Nothing big but its better than nowt. We had coalie, pollack, codling flatties and what I think was a pouting. All put back so I can catch them next year when they are bigger. We left at about 3 am and it started ****ing down on the was home so we timed it well.

I think this flattie has been in the wars. Look at its tail.

And I think this is the pouting.

    All the gear, no idea.

You must have gone past me if you got there at 8.30. I was sitting on the wall around the second gate area. I left about 9.30.

A couple of coalies, a couple of wrasse and a dozen or so pollack. Nothing any size but plenty sport on the float.
Looks like you did well with the bait fishing too. Well done mate.

That's a canny days fishing mark. Well done. I haven't had anything on the float yet. I didn't have a spare one to try again.
