  • First Bass this year

popped down to my local beach for a couple of hours on Thursday night to try out my newly acquired spinning gear. Third cast with a 65g silver spratt lure, bang all hell broke loose. Result a nice silver bass just under 3lb.
For the record venue was Cresswell and the time was spot on high tide 6.16pm. Lure taken about 40yrds out in the heavy surf.
Once Ive worked out how to upload the pictures i'll put them on.
Bizzarely enough I also caught a flounder with the same lure? Wasn't sure which weighted the heavier.......K

Well done on the bass mate. I'd love one of them this summer but I have failed up to now.

Fishing is not simply my escape.
