Fished Dawia open yesterday down(right down) at Holmton, which is just past Withnersea. This was a new venue for me, which was suggested(had a local tip) to be fishing well off the lad that fished with me. After the 4 hour drive we got to our spot. The conditions weren't perfect(30mph southernly wind), but the venue looked deep. Once on the beach had a bit crack with the surrounding anglers to see if the tip was genuin. Sure enough we were on the hot spot, thornies to 6 1/2lb, coddling to 3lb, bass to 3lb, and monster whities. So all sounded good. After fishing solid for 6 hours throwing every bait(top condition) possible, we walked off the beach empty handed. Of the 200+ anglers on the beach with us we saw 3 undersize whities, and reports of a 3 1/2 coddling coming in. A disappointing days fishing, but on the other hand another venue from this coastline under my belt. I'll be back down in March to fish the two day British Open, and hopefully catch something this time! Or at least have a good p$@s up!!!
