up at 6.30am for a early start at craster. got up about 7am ish. the sea was as flat as a mill pond so i had a walk up to the same spot as the other day got set up. first casta few little knocks but nowt came of them, same with the second and third but just about low water or just after got a great knock and hooked into a nice fish, i managed to get it through the rocks and kelp and up on the rocks. a nice plumpish red cod of 4lb 9oz.
things died down after that and apart from a few little knocks nothing else. packed up about 1.30pm. nice to hook into something to give the rod a bit bend for a change
sorry about the pics but its difficult getting a good one when your'e by yourself.
cheers

well i had another look up tonight at high water 6pm, there was a slight southerly wind and the sea was not as flat as the other day but still fishable. fished with frozen peeler and nothing else again but this time i caught nothing. saying that every cast iwas getting bites but wasn't hooking into anything. at about 8.30pm i had a cracking knock and i know it was a big knock because i was fishing with my nemesis+ which is as stiff as owt, picked the rod up and knock agai so i struck but i was stuck fast all i got back was the snap swivel and nowt else, i was gutted to say the least. then things went from bad to worse, my next cast i lost my footing so instead of falling over i just let the line fly off the reel end ing up with a birds nest. after getting it out had two or three more casts with the same little knocks and the same no fish so packed up about 10.30pm and headed off home. still had a canny night and it was quite warm which made fishing more plesent. i will be back!!!!!!.
i was talking to a couple of lads who had been to the castle and they were saying that the macky were in, it looked like they were fishing with light gear so the would have had a bit fun. they told me once the sun went in the fishing died off.
cheers
