Inspired by Mr Storeys book I headed North to try out Yellow Craig, just south of Coldingham. After a fabulous trek over burn and cliff top to the mark in the glorious sunshine I fished the "lagoon" for the final 3 hours of the ebb using fresh and frozen peeler, tried in close and out to about 80 yrds, tried left and right and yes tried dropping into the middle - not a bite. After a bite to eat, I moved to the south side of Yellow craig and fished in close (within 20 yrds) amongst the weirs - again not a bite. For the 1st hour of the flood I tried a couple of sandeels off a float set up carrying off to sea on the brisk NW breeze - again not a sniff!!!
Packed up and wandered back along the trail in the blazing heat trying to think up suitable excuse for no fish on the table again!! Overall, a great day out - a real pleasure to blank for once.
