Fished there tonight and met up with Rob and Davy Adair.
Had a few chucks before they landed and had a couple of Whiting on the first two casts. Not another thing all night apart from Davy's Rockling lol.
Nice sea running so was a little dissapointed.
Was told as I came off that there was a Codling of about 5 lb from the 44 area, The same lads had another when we walked past them but only about 1 1/2 lb.
Enjoyed the crack though and it was nice and fresh, especially when it was snowing. The very big hailstones were great fun also, wonderfull for the complexion lmao they don't half sting in a strong wind.
Strange thing about the night we moved from the rail end and Rob and I fished the 50 mark while Davy fished the corner. It was blowing a hoolie all the way along but was calm at the 50 I walked along a few yards to where Davy was and it was wild again, very strange lol.
Jim.

Things picked up a bit on the flood Jim. Between 2am and 4am I had a rockling and 2 whiting and our Davey had 4 whiting
Then the snow came back with a vengence. Total whiteout for a good while so we packed up and struggled to see our way back off the pier in the horizontal blizzard that blocked out all the lights from the shore, eerie.
Probably just as well that it snowed when it did, because the sea was almost washing up to the 1st gate when we got there, any longer and it would have been a mare to get around it.
Just starting to get the feeling back in my fingers, and to think, lads are packing in this season already, roll on next Friday

We looked like a couple of walking snowmen when we got back to the car, you missed all the fun Jim. As you mentioned Jim, I moved back down the pier near our kid and it was a lot less windy, started fishing small hooks and macky strip and had a few whiting. Just before the snow started the sea turned orange, gradually moving towards Whitburn, an eerie sight.

It's called being behind a wall Jim, or "finding an area of shelter" you probably had a big supernatural creature (invisible under normal circumstances) diverting the air flow around the 50. Ell Ninny Oh
