Had a couple hour free today so hit shields pier with a mate. Didn't have a chance to get bait to decided to try for a few mackerel for the pan on the little rods.
Tried before the gates first as there seemed to be a few people catching well then moved further up trying into the river side and into the sea.
Not sniff! Nothing! Nada! Tried various lures, spinners, casting distances. Even resorted to sticking one string of daylights just to avoid a blank. Guy not 10 feet away was pulling in something pretty much every other cast be it launce or mackerel.
Add to that losing 3 lures and a string of daylights.
That said however, nice way to spend a bit free time. Sun came out, pier wasn't chockablock with charvs
hopefully get out again before the weather turns crappy this coming week.
