Fished 7-30 to 10:30 last night. right on high the bites started. got 2 whiting , both about a pound. then hooked a bigger fish, but it came off in the surf. was probably 2-3 lb - would have been my first ever cod
i'll never trust my mate to make me rigs again as the hook length had come away from the rig. gutted.

Never mind Matty at least you got a couple. Just make your own rigs next time mate.

That's unlucky mate. Still at least you were catching so you know the bait and location was a good choice. I'm sure you'll get it next time.

where were you at sandsend matty ? i was on the cliffs and ended up with 2 fish best 6lb 2oz ,my mate nige had 3 best 4lb 7oz but he was further along the cliff,lad on next ledge gave a hollar and we managed to haul a 9lb fish up for him as his reel had jammed,nearly lost it a couple of times ,must remember to put a house brick in the drop net next time

nice fish them ollie. I saw some lights up on the cliffs and wondered how they were getting on.
I was on the beach, between 1st and 2nd set of steps.
as i drove home i noticed a fair few fishing the roadside.

matty i saw a few lights down the road and on the beach ,both good areas there was a nice 5lb fish in front of the hotel the other week
