Just in from a trip up north on a whim,Crack-off came up on short notice.sea was clear but not gin clear and things started of slow on the first mark with only a couple of small bites and a tirade of swearing from gav as he lost 8 sets of gear in a row and i lost 1 sinker, anyway after a basta*d of a move to a new mark we both had fish instantly and a bite a chuck for 1hr with lots of missed bites with the fish running straight at us on cleanish ground and dropping it.
it went very quite over slack water then there was another busy spell at the start of the flood but the wind really picked up from the south and we made a sharp exit.
gav had 7 codling and a coley and i had 5 codling, all the codling were very fresh run and between 1&3/4 to 2&1/2lb and all fish returned.
best bait mussell & crab.
gavs got a hundred lines to do tonight as he missed a cracking bite that Blunkett wouldnt have missed
