went to north row ends tonight for afew chucks 1 cod about 5 and a half pounds
it had roe in it as ive noticed in my last few cod ive caught

it seems very early to me has anyone noticed this or can explain why

Strange about the Roe Tony, can't remember seeing fish with roe this early.

i was using crab fishfinder sorry about the late reply
but what about the roe
im baffled in all my years of cod fishing ive never had roe untill about january is it the climate or what
can the doc
answer please

I had a fish three year ago the start of october that was full of roe I remember it well as it was my biggest fish to date... caught it the back of the astley arms on lug rag and razor

fishfinder ive fished there once with sless about ten years ago i got nowt
but i remember sless getting a whiting
( the writing was on the wall)
can we get a bite out of sless

caught a fish last season that seemed to be eggbound from the spring before.I thought this would've killed the fish as there seemed very little room for the gut to swell with the intake of food,also the fish was 'nt fit for eating after I opened it up as the dividing walls( excuse the ignorance ) of the gut/egg tract had /were dissolving into each other tainting the flesh......cheers

lol the whiting king strikes again spoke to nigel last night (doc)and asked him if it was uncommon for a cod to be full of roe so early and he explained that he had seen it as early as september... steve its a small world and we may even of spoke at some point lol will glue a can of stella to the side of my box mate and when I see a hand reaching for it I'll know its you lol we'll have to meet up for a few casts possibly when jim gets back???

yes it was a big whiting
i remember it was bloody freezing
we had been to craster i think and stopped there on the way down
andthe est is history
