  • St' Mary's 5/7/2013 - where's my wrasse?

Fished the gulley south of the pillar from 1845 - 2245. pretty much 2 hours either side of low water. Rag, sardine, peeler claws and mussel. 1 float kit, 1 pulley out at all times. Had about 2 genuine knocks all night, the only others were gulls flying into my line: the thing is the water was absolutely wick with sprats and the gulls were having a fine time.

Am I just being thick or should something water-born not be chasing them?

Either way it was a picturesque night at the island, try again next week.

Was that you and your mate next to me round the back? If so that gully I was spinning into will normally produce wrasse to ragworm, like you say the gulls were the only ones catching there. Best of luck for next time.
