  • Roker pier this morning

Decided to head down for first light so arrived about 3.30am. Took the big rod & the lure rod. Was set up & fishing by 4am with the big rod on the bottom using small hooks tipped with frozen blacks. Bites from the off but couldn't hook into anything. Nothing at all on the spinner and seen the odd 1 or 2 mackerel coming in. Decided to stick some daylights on the big rod and wack them out to see if they were right out.....but they wernt so went back to bait fishing as could not see any mackerel coming in. To save a blank I caught a flounder about 30cm long then decided to pack up and try again another day

At least you got a fish mate and unlucky with the mackerel it sounds like they are all at SS pier reading the reports but I couldn't find any yesterday off the beach
