yeah just to let em get a bit closer in.Its not unusual to get the odd bass, pollock and wrasse there either. Very good cod mark in the winter too but in the right conditions

i still say the way forward is to put a day ticket charge on the piers or a yearly fee that way it will keep the tramps off the piers they do it all over the rest of the country and proper anglers would not mind paying a little fee . Rant over !

Good idea that mate. Fished Eastbourne pier last year £2 for a day pass, immaculate and run by volunteers from the local angling club.

What a first class gonk! Camping on a pier yourself is mental but with your daughter as well

But then we are dealing with people who have never had a job, never had to engage their brain in any way except to learn how to roll weed and crack open a can of Stella. Shame their kids will turn out the same.

I will stick to the beach, i can only imagine what the Heugh will be like this weekend...hard hats on
Usually found on Crimdon beach with two Springers!!

Every year same nutters come out when the mackerel are in. "Take your daughter to the slaughter"! Anything could have happened camping a mile out to sea on the end of a pier!.

Wey last night a lad was threatening to throw himself off shields pier. There was 4 police officers the coastguard on his bike the lifeboat was on standby. All for this one nutcase.

Oh and the mackerel were actually jumping out the water 1yard off the small wall. Plenty of them aswell. Not many other anglers about last night plenty space

I got onto pier at 5am thought I had put my bag in a puddle as my arse was soaked, then realised my bloody juice bottle was open and had flooded my bag, great start ffs.

Got to end of pier and could see what I thought was a rod, then closer I got to end realised it was a rod rest, no ones about though so must of been left I thought. As I got even closer noticed loads of rubbish, empty beer cans, a bag with a couple of mackerel in and then noticed a rod on the ground, and further again I got and there was another rod, and then a tent.

To say the POT guy was pi$$ed off about the mess and the life belt would be an understatement.

Anyway I got myself 3 mackerel and 2 sandeels, was another fella with a few mackerel and another few fellas came and went with the odd mackerel and sandeel, no great numbers just yet though.
Think that was me who you spoke too for a minute. I was fishing the blocks for an hour. The place was a right state on the end like.
