  • 5000 miles to St Abbs!

Evening! Made it up to St Abbs this morning after getting in from the US last night! Wide awake at 3.30 am so thought stuff it ill get on the road! So after a quick rummage round the garage to sort my gear out I made it to the mark at 6.30 am

Really nice morning at the headlands!

Only ever fished to the left of the light house, but decided to give the right hand side a go today! Steep descent and then a little hop, skip and a jump to the island! Easier than it sounds when carrying two rods, bait bucket, back pack and camera!!!!

Took this pic on the way back up of the mark, you can clearly see the gap you have to negotiate (be carfule if you try this place!)

When I got to the mark it was a cracking morning and there was plenty of boats doing there pots!

The fishing was decent with a Coalies on crab and daylights!

Keeped getting slightly better knocks and eventually struck into this nice little red fella, just over 3 lbs!

Some dodgy camera timer work and managed to get a photo with some pretty wabbly looking legs!

Fishing was relatively quiet today by St Abbs standards and I called it a day after 3/4 hours! Was great to get back out after six months without wetting a line!! Thinking tomorrow to try for some kelpies somewhere!!

Great pics and report. Would love to try Abbs and Eyemouth, but I think Lynn and I are a bit old for rock hopping!

Off to Scarborough tomorrow for our summer assault on the boats at Whitby! Hope you have a productive time fishing while you are home mate.

Good read mate. And class pics.
Do you not wet a line in the states mate ? It's huge over there, surely you could hook into a few bass not to far away...just a thought.
GET OUT THERE AND STICK A BAIT IN IT !!!

Hell of a trek mate but rewards for your efforts. I'm itching to get up that way myself after a year off.
