Fished the Stoney (nowt) the Barge Bottom (one bite) the Bathing Pool corner (nowt) and the Toilets (nowt). Bottom of a massive tide the choice was the Slatey or the top of Cullercoats Harbour - chose the Harbour. Couple of bites then I gets one about 2 lb. Still haven't blanked this year. We were as far up the harbour as we could get and as the tide flooded we moved onto the big flat rock rather than the skeer below it.
Turned my back to bait up and was greeted with a 2 foot wall of water that neatly dumped everything on the rock in the pool behind it. Much scrambling about retrieved everything EXCEPT the fish so if you see a pretty little green codling lying around PM me and I'll pick it up.
Scary wave though as it wasn't that rough in the Harbour and we fished off the rock for another 3/4 hour with no repeat. Just shows eh
Luckily I'd photographed it so beat Rod again.
