Just got back in from a few hours out fishin'.
Started on Shields pier......1 fish to Ian (coley....not BIG , but in size - returned).....on his first cast.
My first cast........nested me 535 something horrible.....1st nest I've had in about 4 years and the 1st I've had on the 535.....changed over to me Slosh30 (always 2nd choice.....lol).
No more fish from the rail end, so moved down to mark 12.......my 1st cast......nested the Slosh30 somrthing even MORE horrible.......lol.
Managed to sort out the 535 so went back to me 1st choice reel again .........still no fish......for either of us.....plenty bites, but no takers.
3 blokes fishing just beyond the 1st gate into the harbour had some good sized codling mind......1 looked to be around 5 or 6lb (the fish, that is....not one of the blokes)
Went to Market Dock about an hour after L/W.....NOWT at all.
The water was so brown, I think we would stand a better chance going back tomorrow and using fly gear......more chance of getting trout in there at the moment.

Must've been about 8:00 - 8:30 when we got there Stephen.
Thought that there must've been some match on due to the amount of people on the pier.
We stopped about 30yds short of the Rail End......putting out nice big baits of lug, runny squid & mussel.....had many a good knock, but nothing came of them.
Had a wander up to just before The Post later on......that wasn't your old macky carcase lying by the seat near the Rail End, was it?.....the place was in a right mess. Mind you, there were several other peeps had been fishing the area aswell, so chances are it wasn't yours.
Glad to hear that you had fish, Stephen.......the only thing I got was 2 nested reels and a cold.......lol
Lol Sless......mebbies I should copy it to the Freshwater Fishing forum.....hahahaha
