    Just put up a post from fishing wansbeck and mentioned that i caught a fish i didnt know the species of so heres the pics....

    Looks like a Weaver correct me if i am wrong.

                        Deff a weaver but you can tell by its little dorsal. That looks a dark boddied weaver but that's what it is. I caught one on roker pier before and the lad nxt to me said "kill it, kill it" , it will sting you the are horrible" My response was FFS it's a 4 inch fish that was hungry and has done nothing to me so unhooked it and let it live on. Thy can be nasty little ****s and even sit in the sand web the tide goes out and people have stood on them and had to go to hospital but if you catch one just put it back and don't squash it like most people would. After all, it was only hungry :-)

                          when you think back a few years and that Swordfish was caught in nets off Newbiggin and the fact that you could catch Tunny off Whitby years ago the Pacific Marlin wouldn't have been a bad guess!
