I know that this is a report from another region but I thought some of you might like to know!
Just popped into the tackle shop in Portishead marina to get a few bits and bobs for a session tonight to be told that a cod of 26lb 7oz was caught from Battery point over the weekend. Fish was wieghed and photographed at Veals.
F*ck me sideways, I've been fishing around there for months with only a couple of 2lb'ers to show for it.

Cosmic, I travelled from Yorkshire to fish for undersize pout and poor cod at Chesil at the weekend. I used to live in Portishead a few years ago and when I was passing, I was tempted to go to Battery Point instead. Wish I had.

Very very good Choux buns and eclairs from the bakers in Portishead.
