posted on 10/11/2004 at 10:05Bottom water was circa 7.20pm. Fished for 1 1/2 hours at Old Salts - 1 hour down - 1/2 hour up. Sea quite flat but there was a fair bit of movement in front. A shortish lob is really all you need here. Managed a few whiting - all on size - all on rag/lug cocktail, but crabs then became a problem stripping the bait. Moved up to Big Bay for about 1 hour - but got no knocks at all there.
Only a few others were out with whiting being only fish getting caught when I was there.
