posted on 9/10/2004 at 04:58Just got back in and having the now compulsory NESA breakfast (bacon sarnie and a bottle of Marstons Late Hopped!)
Fished the sea side of the rubble from 10pm - 4:45am. Cracking night!
Landed 24 whiting (6 in size, kept 1) a 1.5lb codling and a just in size plaice (put back as only lip hooked). Lost a big edible crab on the lift as well.
Best baits were rag/mackerel and lug/razor cocktail for the whiting and the codling took a whole squid stuffed with liquidised mackerel, mussel, liver and pilchard oil (managed to swallow the lot and 2 4/0 hooks as well the greedy sod!)
Started to chuck it down at 4:45am so left, but had caught steadily all night with no quiet spells. Lads at the end said no cod being caught, only whiting.
Any NESA members on the pier???
