posted on 5/8/2004 at 18:29down at first light this morning, very foggy but plenty fish. had about 20 macky and 30 sand eels in a couple of hours, the macky definately had a prefference for spinners over feathers.
we heard a load of excited shouting from tynemouth pier, didn't know why until the fog lifted. it was a dolphin jumping out of the water, it then swam to about 30 or 40 yds off shields pier for about 10 minutes or so.
so all in all a great morning, might give it ago first light tomorrow again.
