posted on 6/3/2004 at 00:41 Went out tonight after having a look this morning. The sea was picking up all the time which was surprising as there was no more than a breath of wind even if it was south easterly. First couple of chucks were not too bad then I got into a load of weed and lost my leader. Changed over to the 535 loaded with 30 lb straight through. What a night mare. I have never seen as much weed on Blyth beach before. We moved from between the pipe and Stubblies to the north of the pipe which sometimes helps but not tonight. It is the first time my lead has ended up on the beach (several times). At one time (my last chuck) I was running down the beach trying to keep up with my lead while reeling in. I lost. Was talking to some lads that were fishing a match they had the same problem at cullercoats. He said that he had never seen it as bad also. She who must be obeyed got quite a shock when I walked into the house at 22:50, never been known.
