posted on 3/1/2004 at 15:01Had planned to hit Blyth pier last night, but the place looked fairly packed so i opted to head along to shields for a couple of hours... handfull of rag and the last couple of mackeral strips from the freezer - every cast saw the rod banging like mad within seconds, just pulled in one whiting after another. Just like Blyth's been recently they were all a canny size so it was a nice session. Picked up one small codling too, probably only half a pound or so.
Returned all the fish so hopefully they'll be back with a bit more weight on them in the months to come.
