A word of caution about this area this is not a particularly safe area for fishing and getting a bit of local advice and exercising caution/common sense would be wise. These are a few of the potential dangers:
Cliff erosion - bits are often falling into the sea
High cliffs - with a potentially fatal fall onto rocks (it is a popular suicide spot for that reason)
Muddy - slippy sections on some of the paths (especially with loads of gear)
Slippy boulders - broken ankles, trips etc
No lighting
Tides - getting stranded by the tides, Camel's Island was famous for this.
Big waves - it was very calm today but in certain sections there were very large waves hitting the rocks
It would be worth visiting these places in daylight and at high and low/tide to see the dangers and the potential snaggy areas. Going with someone who regularly fishes here is the best solution.
I know this sounds a bit wimpy but people have been killed here before!
I will be fishing this area on Friday 22nd from 2pm-7pm, anyone who wants a few pointers is welcome to come and have a bit crack, i have grown up here and know the area well.
