  • Roker / Seaburn Today (23.06.08)

    Hi chaps....

Got a few day soff from work so (bit of a busmans holiday), I'm spending some time taking some photos...lol.

Was down along the Roker / Seaburn area thismorning - sea looked like it was more suited to February rather than June..lol.

Still - a good sea on for the shore angler:

Apologies for the pic looking a bit "arty-farty" instead of just a general "this is what the sea looked like" sort of photo

For those who may not like the "arty-farty" b&w......here's another pic from a slightly diff location......and it's in COLOUR, too

Aye Peter, ya right, m8........this time of year you should be looking at wall to wall sunshine and flat seas........but that's climate change for ya...lol.

Seas like that are gonna chase off any mackeral that have been around - having said that - forecast (well the ones I've seen) are saying Westerlies for the rest of the week (?)....so sea conditions may well calm down over the next day or so.

Speaking of "climate change"......I had to cover a climate change conference last week......1st guy up giving a presentation said that "yes - we can expect higher rates of sustained rainfall during the Winter months (not snow), but the summers would see prolonged periods of less rainfall (ie drier)" and produced slides and stats to "prove" it ......ermmmm.......he, the entire audience and myself were all soaking wet due to the constant precipitation outside.....lol

              climate change

anyone ever thought about climate change i.e.we are an island surrounded by sea, if the land warms more, it draws cold air/water from around it, which turns to rain, so for us global warming = more fu##ing rain ....just a thought
              keep it swinging

                Aha, Markie....

Thing is.......top pic taken using old fashioned (manual / film) Nikon F3 with Ilford FP4 film + red filter (only became "digital" once I'd scanned the neg) - bottom pic Nikon D200 digital set at ISO200 taken about 30 seconds after the 1st pic.

                Hi Jim......Lol - I dunno which I prefer, either !

Amie's doing great - can now walk (or rather run / teeter) ratter precariously accross the length of the living room - love when she calles out "Dandad"
