I had a ride to the coast with my old man today looking for Horden beach but failed, so I had a ride to Steetly, got out of the car walked to the beginning of the pier but my old man had seen enough when he looked along the pier, too cold, too far, mind you he is 78! Anyway thought I would practice what I preach and take a couple of pics of the sea from the beginning of Steetly pier, got out the camera complete with fully charged batteries from this morning, switched it on and it said "Please insert memory card"

No pics but there is a little bit of a sea on from SE, enough for cod............nah.

Yes please keep it up it is very useful to a lot of us. if you could start a new thread with the date on it everytime you have checked the conditions it would be even better.

Going fishing shortly wish the sea was bigger!

                    Keep up the good work.

Beachlover, getting to Horden beach is quite easy. Coming from the North-- from say Easington, pass the Bell pub on your left, about 4oo yds after that keep an eye out for the bingo hall on your right as the road swings left, carry on through the main traffic lights, about 100 yds after that, take a small slip road left where Bells convenience store is (ANYONE will tell you where that is if you get lost) ! Keep on going down the bank and just follow the road all the way,you will go under a small railway bridge, right down to a small car park where the beach is

Went to Horden beach last night, I know where the car park is now and I've been told not to park there in darkness, as I was driving back up the road there were a couple of anglers walking down that road having parked their car up by the houses, that says it all for me. You don't add half a mile to your walk for nothing!
