Seaham SAC Richardson Cup 29/07/18

Today 40 Anglers weren’t put off by the weather and fished for the Richardson Cup between 1400 hrs and 1900hrs, which included 3 hardy lady Anglers.
The signs of a few good fish looked possible,with a strong South Easterly wind causing a bit of movement in the water, which had plenty of colour in.
Not many braved their Pier pegs due to the wind. Tactics for the day looked like targeting a lone Codling and picking up a decent prize. They should have been, go to the base of the pier, open your bait box and tip it over the side, and go home for a nice Sunday dinner. !!!!!
Only 3 Anglers found a solitary fish !! All flounders. I know it’s a bad time of year but this is shocking..

Massy Biffetti did manage to find a Smoothhound on the Hall Beach but was 6cms to small. That’s four in the last few weeks caught in the area, would save us all petrol and mileage if they stayed and grew up to be adults.

very poor weigh in for any time of the year . Lets hope it stays flat for the next match with the Plaice still not showing and a lack of doggies too .
