Today Club members fished for the Davison Cup between 1300-1800hrs, with a big tide, a slight lazy roll, and colour in the water.
67 members including 4 lady members registered for today's Comp, with quite a few starting on the pier on drawn pegs. The first few hours produced Very little with only one size Coley being landed, then again the dreaded big swell arrived resulting in the pier becoming awash.
Anglers headed for Hendon and Ryhope to the North, along with a few heading South of the South Pier in the Green Wall area.
It was the latter Anglers who made the better choice, with a few Cod showing in the kelp.
Club Secretary Robbie Davison had a nice 3lbr out on his new mark quickly followed by another. Marie Sardag fishing next to Robbie also landed a couple.
Pretty disappointing weigh in really for the canny conditions but it can only get better.
