  • SBRAAC Stuart Myhill memorial trophy match, 22/04

11 members fished today at Walker riverside park; catch, measure & release, with 9 members catching fish. It was generally very slow going, with nearly all fish coming from one end of the pegs and very little at the other. The final result as follows:

    1st Paul Roper. 197 cms 8 fish
    2nd Kev Moffatt. 191 cms 8 fish
    3rd Michael Thompson. 168 cms 7 fish
    4th Nick Robson. 161 cms 6 fish
    5th Phil Smithson. 123 cms 5 fish
    6th Steve Alexander. 55cms 2 fish
    7th Mick Ure. 29cms 1 fish
    8th Les Henzall & GaryWilson both 21cms 1 fish.

Well done to Paul; Kev's last minute fish not quite enough to snatch victory!

    Cheers, Gary

I do indeed Davy! Had a bad day yesterday, got the number 1 peg which I'd quite fancied, but all the fish were at the other end Nearly smashed the end of my rod clipping a wall first chuck, then had to put up with weed all day, even managed to pump in a specimen rubble-bag full of water along with a big bunch of weed - hard work on the lighter gear! I got my solitary fish last cast just in time to save a blank, but the lads up the other end at least managed to get a few fish. Far too much fresh water in the river for my liking up there - would definitely have preferred to be at the quay or even the Copthorne, Walker ain't my favourite place in the world lol!
