  • Durham Constabulary SAC. River Tyne 14/11/15

Ten members fished the river Tyne on a catch measure release Comp, around the Police Launch area on a calm day with a rising tide between 12-4pm.
With the anglers set up Barry (Haversack) Johnson made a late appearance and set up his gear inches from fellow anglers, even though it looked like he had just rolled out of bed, from the off, he was into fish, with some nice size whiteys.
Within a blink of an eye, Haversack had raced into a good lead, with Five fish landed before the others had even had a bite....
As the tide pull started, the fish came on the feed with all anglers starting to catch. Kev Woodcock was praying to the gods with half an hour to go, when he had his first small bite, the smallest knock known to man, produced a treble shot, saving Kevs bacon...
A canny days fishing but bit disappointed with only a few very small codling on show..but Haversack had a lovely 36cm whitey which took the biggest prize, in a bag of 7 which also took him the biggest bag....Well done Haversack !!!!!

    Result..Top Five

    1st Barry Haversack Johnson. 7fish for 153pts (biggest 36cm)
    2nd Ian Ainsley 6 fish for 103pts
    3rd Pete Chadwick. 2 fish for 54pts
    4th Kev Woodcock. 3 fish for 43pts
    5th Dave Woodcock. 1 fish for 31pts

All fish returned alive and scored using SAMF chart
For all those Mick Dunn followers, he was in London at the Dr Who convention (may the force be with him) or something like that !!!!!!!!!!!!!

With his haversacking skills and short fish measure we need to put him in front of the commitee Geordie
