  • Northumbria Police SAC - Bob Strong Memorial Trophy.

    1st LEG:- COPTHORN 06/06/10.

Fished over 2 legs ( 1 on the Tyne and 1 on the Weir) with combined total points decides the winner.

Fishing was from 1800 till 2200.
Weather was warm with showers on a flooding medium tide.
6 fished this comp, using the SAMF catch and release scoring chart,18cm and above. Fishing started off very slow for the first hour until the flood picked up with Dave Nevin and Steve Elliot each regularly bringing in fish. Species included codling up to 35cm, flounder, coalies , whiting and eels. Dave Nevin scooped the H/F with a nice 41cm flounder.

    All fish released after measuring.

    RESULTS.

    1st. Steve Elliott 14 fish for 213pts
    2nd. Dave Nevin 13 fish for 201pts (H/F)
    3rd. Steve Foster 5 fish for 73pts
    4th. Jimmy Brookes 5 fish for 61pts
    5th. Charlie Bath 2 fish for 12pts
    6th. Alan Parker 2 fish for 11pts

2nd LEG : Pans Bank, Sunderland 4th July.

Fished 6pm-10pm last 4 hrs flood on a small tide. Very warm night but windy. Fish showed straight away for some (no prizes for guessing which 2 for) and continued right the way through the comp'. Steve Elliott's bag contained a mix of a couple flounder, few codling and the rest coalies. Dave Nevin had coalies and flounder right up to his last cast when he pulled in a triple shot of codling which wasnt quite enough to catch Steve but managed to bag the heaviest fish on points with a 36cm flounder.

    1st. Steve Elliott 42 fish for 676pts
    2nd. Dave Nevin 32 fish for 511pts (H/F)
    3rd. Steve Foster 14 fish for 215pts
    4th. Jimmy Brookes 12 fish for 146pts
    5th Alan Parker 6 fish for 64pts

    OVERALL POINTS TOTALS:
