Just back from the British Airways Site on the Tyne. 7 adults and 2 Juniors fished from 12 noon till 5pm, with high tide around 1430hrs. Fished using SAMF measure and release scoring charts
Fishing was good for aound the first two hours, with numerous flatties being landed including a 32cm and 34cm.
Things died off a little with the tide and only a few landed after that.
Bait of the day was rag/bluey
In only his second comp Peter Chadwick took the honours for the highest score (118pts)and joint longest fish, sharing with Billy Huscroft with a 34cm flounder apiece.
On a day that Flounders and coleys were the species, 3 fish measuring 26cm each made an appearance. Codonly says they will be Smelt after I phoned him, but will try and upload photo..

Just spoken with Alan Charlton, he tells me that it is a European Smelt, not common in the area. All three returned safely
