This Comp was fished on the River Wear on Sunderland Business Park outside GPO offices on a rising tide in sunny blustery conditions, using SAMF scorecard on measure/release
Due to late cancellation of Rest Days, sickness and holidays, Five hardy anglers fished the Comp on Saturday at the above location, parking was a bit of a pain with GPO having instructed a private Company to take control of its land, so anglers beware.
Anyway Jason Pool on end peg up river was soon into some nice flounder landing one of 29cm and a treble shot of undersized, Mick Dunn fishing end peg down river soon followed with a scoring flounder.
The fish were active throughout the Competition, but with most showing as the tide neared its height.
Ian Ainsley had some nice Flounder out with two measuring 34cm mid Comp then all Anglers were into the Coleys that decided to make an appearance with most being around 25cms
Most surprising was the fact that although anglers had fresh crab available, 99% of the fish were taken on Rag/maki only around 30m out.
All Anglers caught which is what it's all about, and all fish returned alive.
RESULTS
1st Ian Ainsley. 10 fish for 223pts
2nd Jason Pool 4 fish for 83pts
3rd Mick Dunn 6 fish for 63pts
4th Ian Jackson 6 fish for 62pts
5th Peter Chadwick 2 fish for 19pts
L/F. Ian Ainsley 34cm Flounder x2
