  • PSUK Region 2 Police Shore Competition @ Seaham Hall 6/3/2015

The North East Police Regional Shore Competition was held at Seaham Hall Beach on Friday 6/3/2015 between 1-6pm and involved 35 anglers from West Yorks. Cleveland.Durham.and Northumbria Police Forces.
The Comp was fished 3 up 2 down on a biggish tide with a Westerly Swirling wind.
Any fish measuring 18cms or more to be recorded and returned alive on a running length total.
Registration took place on the morning at The Stapleton Arms Pub Hawthorn Village before The anglers made their way down onto the Hall Beach which was pegged from around the last 200m of the North end of the Prom and towards "The Caves"
To say it was slow throughout the Comp was an understatement with very few fish caught even though Dabs Flounder and Coleys showed only 24hrs earlier
Only 24 fish were caught by the 35 anglers !!! Scratching was the order of the day.
Charlie Bath fishing near to the North end of the Prom managed to find 4 fish (Dabs and a small Coley) to take the Individual award and Sweepstake with his fish taking plain Ragworm, he also managed to steal two prizes from the raffle !!!!!
The Comp was fished during daylight hours, but in hindsight we could have taken in a few hours of darkness to improve catches.
Anyway all the Anglers returned to the Staps for a hearty Curry rice and Chips, If Dunny left any !!!

    RESULTS

    TEAM Champs..Northumbria C Team. 15 zone points
    Runners Up......Northumbria B Team. 18 zone points

Individual Winner Charlie Bath Northumbria B 4 fish for 93cm

WELL DONE TO ALL WHO CAUGHT and especially to Charlie, well fished mate.

Big Thanks to all who attended and bought raffle tickets with a grand total of £100 being taken and will be donated to RNLI..
HIGHLIGHT OF THE DAY was when a young lady came down onto the beach and decided to strip off in full view before taking a quick dip for five minutes....Gutted I was at the opposite end !!!

        Well done chaps and Charlie.
A bad days fishing is better than a good day at work.

It was a long 5hrs did not even see a bite. And I forgot my bloody sandwiches. Highlight of my day was forgetting to get Chuts Slappy blacks off Gary Pye at Nets. I thought Chut was going to explode ha ha. I still enjoyed myself and it was good to be out. Cheers Chut and Kev for all the work u did.
