The Comp was fished between 1800hrs and 2200hrs on Fri 27th Nov over an incoming tide at Seaham Hall Beach. 7 Seniors and a Junior took part after a few unavoidable late call offs, on a crisp but fresh night at Seaham Hall. Not a bit of wind or any movement from the water, so was expecyting big things from the Whiteys. The comp was run on a catch and release basis, using SAMF rules and regs on the points/measure system.
Very slow to start with, but a few nice Rockling appeared close in, with nothing coming from distance. Old Billy Huscroft pulled out a funny looking codling that only measured 25cms but must have weighed around the 1lb mark.
Young Josh Pool (9yrs) had been running up to the marker, with a few fish and had quickly gone into the lead with around 90mins to go, When Ian Ainsley pulled out a nice plump 34 cms Plaice, which fell to whiteworm at a distance of only around 20yrds from the beach giving him a welcome 46pts. Not to be outdone, young Josh then pulled out a nice 30cm Plaice on his last cast, giving him overall 2nd place and not only pushing the winner all the way, but Beating his Dad Jason by four fish to Nil.
A bad day for Mick Dunn who broke his headlamp and blanked.
All fish returned to fight another day especially on this Sun...
1st...Ian Ainsley 3 fish 64pts
2nd...Josh Pool (9yrs) 4 fish 55pts
3rd....Neil Bickford 1 fish 23pts
4th....Billy Huscroft 2 fish 21pts
