Fished Thursday 26/02/09 at Glass Centre, Sunderland. 35 rods fishing 1.30pm to 6.30pm. Catch and release anything over 18cm counting. 6 weighed-in 6 fish

Full results later but West Yorkshire won as they had two scorers.

Dave Kernighan, Northumbria 'C' won the individual title with 1 whiting

If we had used usual size limits there would have been only 2 scoring fish.

Peter i thought you were going to chuck yourself in at one point.
I don,t think the dredger helped we saw it on the way to the car. It must be really noisy and disturbing for any fish. It was only a short distance away.

Here's the results after a close run battle.

          TEAM WINNERS: WEST YORKSHIRE
          TEAM 2ND: NORTHUMBRIA 'C'
          TEAM 3RD: CLEVELAND 'A'

          INDIVIDUAL 1ST: DAVE KERNIGHAN (N'BRIA 'C')
RUNNER UP: GRAHAM LUND (WEST YORKS)

          ZONE WINNERS:-
          RED-GRAHAM LUND (WEST YORKS)
          YELLOW-KEVIN IDESON (WEST YORKS)
          BLUE-DAVE KERNIGHAN (N'BRIA 'C')
          GREEN-MAL ANDERSON (CLEVELAND 'A')

          BIGGEST ROUND FISH-DAVE KERNIGHAN
BIGGEST FLAT FISH - GRAHAM LUND

I think it just goes to show the state of the fishing in our area at the moment. Whilst I accept there may be the odd angler who has caught fish recently who has done years of homework etc, but there are numerous others who are also getting out fishing regularly and catching very little or nothing.

A very disappointing competition for the amount of fish caught but at least someone caught something in each of the zones. Well done to Graham and Kevin to clinch the Team trophy for West Yorks and Dave for the individual winner.
A bad days fishing is better than a good day at work.

Again, hard lines on the lack of fish , especially when the lads have come a long way to compete. lets hope it picks up soon.

Fortunately not. I had two rounds a couple of years back but by the end of the second day I was kicking the ball out the rough in frustration haha. Don't think I could take to it. Wouldn't mind going to the Masters though.

I think if we caught loads of fish every time we went it would lose its appeal to me. I personally have had what i would consider a good season. I have had my 7lb er off steetly and a couple of nice 4lbers. Loads of big whitey and some nice size Bass from the beach.
                        Enjoyed the compo at Folkstone.
Yep i think its been a decent year for me. Mind i have put some hours in-enjoyed every minute. And my spring summer season is now kicking in - looking forwards to some flattie/mackeral bashing off Seaham the pier which has produced three cod to me this season (mind they were all about 7").And some boat fishing.
Forgot to mention my fly fishing.22 March.
No my stuff will not be going on flea bay.
